Happy Holidays,
I can't believe we only have 4 days left until winter break. This year is just flying by.
Last week in first grade we...
- learned how light travels in a straight line.
- made cup a phones to demonstrate how sound is made from vibrations.
- reviewed common, proper and possessive nouns.
- finished up our opinion writing.
- use our senses to write about what it would be like to live in a snow globe.
- learned about exclamatory and imperative sentences. We now know all about each type of sentence.
This week we will ...
- finish up our unit on light and sound, by learning all about the materials light can travel through.
- take an assessment on nouns.
- follow direction to complete a directed draw and then write one of each type of sentence about our drawing.
- We will not have spelling this week!
Thursday will be our Christmas party. We will be decorating cookies and rotating through some fun crafts and games.
